Wee-kend Focus: Allergy Awareness

One of the things that I'm passionate about is food allergy awareness. Since my son was diagnosed with allergies to peanuts and eggs, my obsession for research has gotten a hold of me!

Over 12 million people in this country suffer from some sort of allergy to food, the majority being school-aged children. Scientists are reporting that food allergy diagnoses have doubled over the past decade. There is currently no cure to food allergies and strict avoidance of the allergy causing food is the only way to prevent a reaction.

Wanting to raise advocacy where ever I can, I wanted to somehow make a contribution to allergy awareness. That's when I decided to design a food allergy tee to benefit the cause. The allergy tee, by Wee Wee Wear, features cute illustrations of some of the leading allergens, great for the young and old at heart. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), one of the nations leading nonprofit, patient advocacy organizations providing information about food allergy.
